It is not what one says, but rather what one does, that makes all the difference in the world.

About the JCFNM

Mission

The mission of the Jewish Community Foundation of New Mexico is to build and perpetuate support for a vibrant, caring Jewish community through partnerships with donors and organizations.

The Foundation strives to:

  • identify and help address evolving community needs
  • educate about the power and joy of philanthropy
  • inspire donors to match their values with their valuables to affect the community now and in the future.

History

The Jewish Community Endowment Foundation of New Mexico (JCEF) was founded in 1997, as a division of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico, to develop long-term financial support for the Jewish community. JCEF introduced the endowment Book of Life in 2005 to encourage community members to create their Jewish legacy. In 2013, the boards of directors of the Jewish Federation and the JCEF determined that creating an "independent" Jewish Community Foundation with a broader reach and dedicated focus would benefit the future of our community. The Jewish Community Foundation of New Mexico was incorporated as a nonprofit in November, 2013. The Foundation received its 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS in August, 2014.
